A nameless face : In the 'shoes' of a child murdered in the Nazi holocaust
Above is an exhibit featuring a Jewish Child from Germany. His younger self is depicted in the large photograph. In such he is in fact wearing the shoes you see in his display. The other photograph is the last photograph taken of him, in 1940 shortly before he was deported from his home and sent to his death. His name has been consumed in the tides of war, executed at the hands of the Nazis, you see before you the only remnants of his entire family - his world - everything he'd ever come to know. He is the face of 1.5 million children, 1.2 million of them Jewish murdered in the Nazi Holocaust.
