This Exhibit speaks for 6 million souls, Jewish souls consumed by the Nazi Holocaust. More accurately, through reminders and remnants of everything and everyone they'd ever come to know. Families never come to know posterity. Stolen worlds. Echoes of the Shtetl. In this exhibit you will see the charred artifacts - things making truth of the meaning of the word which describes what has no proper locution, holocaust - completely consumed in flames. Here you will see a rough little needle box, content lost in the ashy rubble, an old snuff box, perhaps an heirloom to which there are no left heirs, stories lost in the silence aloud - a glass still covered in blackened soot, remaining unbroken - frozen in time. The photographs speak the collective stories. From haunting prewar portraits so unknowing of their few years left despite age, to the Nazis marching into the streets - and in a chilling vision of finality, a photograph of the Shtetl, completely shielded from view with air thick of smoke, homes and occupants alike in flames. A reminder of the moment in which everything to be, perhaps centuries of the 6 million's families histories was consumed and halted by the progression of time - taken by the faces all the while beside them.
